TEACHER RESOURCE: End of Topic Assessment

Selling Science, Nanoscience

The following form of summative assessment addresses overarching key ideas within the Australian F-10 Curriculum. These include: - The relationship between ‘Form and Function’, where students apply their understanding of microscopic and atomic structures. -Quantification of scale and measurement These activities can be modified appropriately to suite any lower secondary year level. Ideally this addresses the Year 9 strand of Science as a Human Endeavor where students are to investigate the use of nanotechnology in medicine such as the delivery of pharmaceuticals (ACSHE160). However this activity also addresses the Year 10 strand of Science as a Human Endeavor where the use and influence of science involves students predicting future applications of aspects of nanotechnology on people’s lives(ASCHE194).
